The Job's Not Done

When I was enrolled in my Intro to Creative Advertising course I had the opportunity to meet a group of women that shared the hope for change in the advertising industry. We took the initiative and began educating ourselves and others about the journeys of the voices that are under-represented. I was tasked with giving our efforts a name and a little under a year later The Job’s Not Done 2018 Conference was born. Our ideas came to fruition because of supportive professors and administration, who never stopped believing in our vision for what this conference could be.

This conference brought the best and the brightest in advertising and public relations to the University of Texas at Austin to share their experiences and ideas related to how the industry can more aggressively move forward with diversity and inclusivity. To the right you can view our panel on Race and Ethnicity in the workplace.

The movement for diversity and inclusion is happening right now and I’m so grateful for what this conference represented to those that attended. It’s a reinforcement that the future is colorful. The future is forming in our very hands everyday.

It was the first of many to come but I’m so privileged to have worked with all of these kickass women.  The job’s not done but it was a job well done.
