A Glimpse at the Universe
Have you ever watched the leaves flirt with the air above while walking under a tree? How does it feel to have the sunlight slip through the openings and warm your face? Was the breeze light or steady? With the right soundtrack playing in your ear drums it can be an ethereal experience. The weather is nicer. Everything suddenly seems brighter and the colors pop from every corner. Sounds are vivid and scents are intoxicating.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Great. Another lame motivational ‘Go Outside Namaste’ post”. Well, you’re right but also, you’re kind of wrong. This isn’t a post that is going to feed you a bunch of fluff without first telling you the nitty gritty. Living in the moment is something that is developed with time. It takes more than reading articles and paying attention to your surroundings. It’s about taking the time to remove yourself from your thoughts to revel in the human experience that is happening around and within you.
Think about that. You’re really in this thing. You’re doing it. Everyday. It’s a beautiful and unexplainable sensation. But, when you’re caught up worrying about the future you miss the opportunity to enjoy the moments of clarity that surround you. Now I’m not saying that every day is full of clear skies with no troubles. Life is full troubles. As a matter of fact, it always will be. But the first step towards taking control of how those troubles make you feel is becoming aware of the action that we’ve conditioned ourselves to overlook.
Breath in. Breath out. Repeat.
